In the previous step-by-step tutorial Step by Step Tutorials - Get SAP HANA developer edition on AWS, we learned how to get SAP HANA developer edition on AWS. But how can we use it? In this tutorial, we will learn some basic operations with SAP HANA developer edition on AWS, how to start/stop instance on your mobile and how to check bills, etc.
Some basic operations - Start/Stop/Reboot/Terminate
There are lots of operations with AWS EC2 including "Instance Management", "Networking", "Actions" and so on as follows. In this section, only "Actions" in the red box will be discussed. Other operations will not be covered in this document. If you are interested, you can search related materials.

3. You can start/stop/reboot/terminate the instance on your mobile. Please have a look at Console Mobile App The following screenshot comes from AWS Console on the App Store on iTunes Form the picture, you can see we can stop/reboot/terminate a running instance.
Have a look at bills
Since SAP HANA developer edition on AWS is based on AWS EC2, we can just have a look at EC2 bills.
1. Login bill management console https://console.aws.amazon.com/billing/home We can get some information from the following screenshot.
a. You can not choose region in the bill management console. You can only choose "Global" in the yellow box which means you cannot see how much you use in a certain region.
b. From the left panel, you can choose "Dashboard", "Bills", "Payment History" and so on. In this example, we choose "Dashboard" in orange box.
c. From the "Monthly Spend" panel, you can find current month-to-date balance in the red box and previous month bill in the blue box.
d. You can find the cost by service from the "By Service" panel. In this example the total cost in red box equals the cost generated by EC2 in green box.
2. Choose "Bills" or "Bill Details" to see the details.
3. We can find all of the cost is in EC2. You can click "Elastic Compute Cloud" to see the details.
4. From the below screenshot, you can find the cost is seperated by region. Asia Pacific (Singapore) Region is displayed in the following picture. The cost consists of three parts:
a. Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud running SUSE Linux
b. EBS
c. Elastic IP Addresses
